Balance Home Services is proud to be a South Australian family-owned and operated business that has been servicing the community for 20 years as South Australia’s oldest private in-home care provider.
We are proud of our friendly and experienced staff and our fantastic reputation. We are a registered NDIS provider who has received the highest available outcome of best practice for several standards in our recent NDIS re-certification audit.
Balance Home Services provides in home services to clients who have NDIS funding, as well as insurance funded and private clients. We also provide a personalised Plan Management service to assist NDIS clients to manage their funding.

Sophie
Managing Director
Sophie has been involved with the business for over 15 years, bringing a steady, hands-on approach to everything she does. Her background in finance and early work supporting children with autism have given her a strong foundation in both structure and empathy; two things that continue to guide how she runs the agency today. With a degree in Behavioural Science, she combines practical knowledge with a real understanding of people. She’s focused on making sure the service stays personal, professional, and genuinely helpful, whilst managing business challenges as they arise. She’s known for her problem solving, her calm leadership style, and her commitment to doing things properly, From compliance and quality, to making sure clients feel seen and supported. As a family business run by Sophie, Prue and David, the agency has built a strong reputation for care that’s not only reliable, but deeply respectful of the people it supports.

David
Director
David brings decades of business experience to Balance Home Services, having successfully run several businesses before Prue and David bought the Dial-An-Angel Franchise in 2004, subsequently rebranding to Balance Home Services. While now partly retired, he remains a valued presence in the office, lending a hand where needed, and staying connected with the clients who love it when he drops in to visit them. With a natural head for business and a down-to-earth approach, David has played an important role in shaping the culture of Balance, one that values genuine relationships, practical support, and doing things properly. His ongoing involvement reflects his belief that good care is built on trust, consistency, and people who care about the work they do.

Prue
Director
Although now retired, Prue played a vital role in laying the foundations of Balance Home Services. Drawing on her background in compliance at Breast Screen SA, she was instrumental in developing the organisation’s strong governance and quality management systems; structures that continue to support the agency’s day-to-day operations and long-term integrity. Prue brought a clear, methodical approach to her work, balanced by a deep care for the people behind the processes. Her commitment to doing things right, and doing them well, helped shape Balance into the reliable, values-driven service it is today. Her legacy lives on in the systems she built and the standards she set.

Emma
Care Services Manager
With over 20 years of experience in the disability sector, 20 of those at Balance Home Services, Emma is deeply passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities. Her progression from support worker to coordinator and finally to Care Services Manager has provided her with invaluable industry knowledge and personal growth. She is committed to sharing her expertise with her team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. Emma thrives on the challenges of her role and is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of those supported by Balance, while also empowering her team to do the same.

Connie
Compliance Manager
As the Compliance Manager at Balance Home Services, Connie ensures that the organisation meets regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices. Her responsibilities include policy development, risk management, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. She oversees audits to verify staff qualifications, keeps documentation current, and manages incident reporting to the NDIS Commission. Connie also serves as a Return-to-Work Coordinator, supporting injured employees through rehabilitation, and as a Work Health and Safety Representative, promoting proactive risk management and safety practices. With five years in the disability sector and having held several roles at Balance, she brings a well-rounded, experienced perspective to her leadership.

Lauren
Plan Manager
Lauren is our Plan Management Officer and brings over seven years of experience in the disability sector, having worked across a variety of roles. This broad background has given her a deep understanding of the NDIS and the challenges participants can face. Unlike many larger plan management providers that often take a transactional or impersonal approach, Lauren offers genuine, personalised support. She takes the time to build real relationships with clients, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way. Her reliable support and clear guidance on NDIS funding rules give our clients confidence and control in managing their plans and using their budgets effectively to pursue greater independence.

Courtney
Coordinator
Courtney has nearly a decade of experience in community services, including seven years within the NDIS sector. She joined Balance Home Services four years ago, initially as a Rostering Coordinator before moving into Care Coordination. She is especially passionate about supporting clients with complex mental health needs and takes pride in building strong, trust-based relationships with clients, their families, and allied professionals. Courtney values Balance as a workplace where she can be her authentic self and continue to thrive.

Skye
Coordinator
Skye has been with Balance Home Services for over seven years. She began as a Support Worker, a role she loved, and for the past five years has served as a Disability Care Coordinator. She is particularly passionate about supporting palliative care clients, individuals with neurological disorders, and those with acquired brain injuries. Known for her warm and bubbly personality, Skye creates a calm, approachable, and supportive environment, ensuring clients and families feel safe and cared for while receiving high-quality services.

Coordinator
Kayley has worked as a Disability Care Coordinator at Balance Home Services for over three years. With a background in nursing and community services, she champions a person-centred approach, helping clients achieve and surpass their NDIS goals. Her role focuses on building strong relationships and fostering independence through compassionate care. Known for her approachable nature, Kayley provides a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered.

Gabby
Coordinator
Gabrielle joined Balance Home Services in 2021 and has held roles in Administration, Rostering, and Recruitment before becoming a Disability Care Coordinator. Gabby (as she is known) is committed to providing person-centred care that empowers clients to meet their NDIS goals. Gabby values collaboration with stakeholders and allied health professionals to tailor support to each individual. She builds strong relationships through meaningful conversations and is always eager to ask questions to better understand client needs. Her dog, Wilson, often joins her at the office, bringing joy to the team’s day.

Samira
Coordinator/ Rostering
Samira has been with Balance Home Services for three years. She began her journey as a support worker in the field, working closely with high-needs and complex clients. Early in her role, she discovered a strong passion for advocating for the people she supported, which led to an opportunity to bring that dedication into the office. Samira now works in a dual role across Care Coordination and rostering. She enjoys being part of a team that helps clients work toward their goals and improve their daily lives. Samira has a particular passion for supporting individuals with neurological and mental health needs, an area that holds personal significance for her. Being able to make a meaningful difference in this space is something she deeply values.

Shondell
Community Services Coordinator
Shondell is a Community Services Coordinator with over a decade of experience in the Disability and Aged Care sector. Managing the team of cleaners and gardeners, she is dedicated to working collaboratively with clients and staff to ensure optimal outcomes. With a personal interest in gardening and cleaning, she integrates these into client services to create uplifting environments. Shondell takes pride in her procedure-driven work ethic and commitment to compliance with NDIS and Fair Work standards. Her focus is on fostering inclusive spaces that enable individuals to live with dignity and independence, while maintaining a professional and supportive workplace.

Holly
Rostering
Holly spent four years as a personal carer in aged care before transitioning to administrative roles in the manufacturing sector. In 2024, she returned to the care industry as a Rostering Administrator at Balance Home Services, driven by her passion for supporting others. Holly finds fulfillment in ensuring efficient scheduling and assisting both clients and the care team, contributing positively to the daily operations and the overall well-being of those she serves.

Emma A
Recruitment Officer
Emma is the Recruitment Officer at Balance Home Services. She began her journey with the organisation as a receptionist before moving into recruitment, where she has worked for the past year. With a strong customer service background, Emma is skilled at connecting with people and understanding their needs. She now applies these strengths to recruiting and onboarding support workers, cleaners, and gardeners. Her passion lies in creating a smooth, welcoming hiring experience and building a team that provides excellent care to clients.

Syren (Lei)
Finance Officer
Syren has been part of the Balance Home Services team since 2006. She began as a Field Worker, transitioned to Domestic Coordinator, and later became a Finance Officer, a role well-suited to her love of figures and attention to detail. After taking a few years off for parenting, she returned to Balance in 2021. Syren remains passionate about her work in finance and is dedicated to providing high-quality service and support to the organisation.

Karen
Compliance Officer
Karen has been a Compliance Officer at Balance Home Services for over four years. She specialises in supporting staff compliance with industry standards by ensuring their training and qualifications remain current. She assists the Compliance Manager with field incident reporting and contributes to NDIS compliance by conducting regular audits of processes, policies, and procedures. Prior to joining Balance, Karen spent over 14 years as a receptionist and administrator supporting physiotherapists around Adelaide, which nurtured her strong sense of empathy. She values being part of a collaborative team working toward the best possible outcomes for clients. Karen is affectionally referred to in the office as ”Sweetie Karen”
